Al is a psychologist (MSc), organisation development (NTL member) and gestalt leader (iGOLD) with over 20 years’ experience as a consultant and business leader., specialising in transformative work including diversity and inclusion. Al has works globally, nationally, and locally with corporates, in the third sector and SMEs. They have also been a Chair/Vice Chair of trustees for MindOut (LGBTQ mental health) and The Spinal Injuries Association.
Al is known for working with leaders seeking transformative experiences and/or transforming organisations. They coach leaders and executive teams to gain insights into how they experience and lead change. Al’s love of transformation is grounded in their strengths which have been honed into skills through work and personal experiences. They have led large scale transformations including structural and culture change (QinetiQ and John Lewis and Partners) and coached a trans woman through transitioning at work. Their personal experiences of transformation have included riding a motorbike over the Himalayas and learning to walk again after a broken back.
Recent projects have included research into experiences of Neurodivergent people in engineering, creating recommendations for action (IET); reciprocal mentoring in the NHS focused on race, LGBTQ and Disability inclusion and working with the executive team of the Fund for Global Human Rights to examine how they use their power to make decisions.
